Landets rundt én million leietagere har millioner stående på depositumskonto i bankene. I vinter skrev DN om innskuddsrenter helt ned mot 0,1 prosent på slike kontoer. Forbrukerrådet klaget inn rentevilkårene til Forbrukertilsynet, som konkluderte med at bankene brøt loven, men Finans Norge er uenige i tolkningen av husleieloven og hevder den må endres.
